Dr William Yeoh is an associate professor at Deakin University’s Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics, and the division leader for Human and Business Centric Cyber Security division at Deakin’s Strategic Centre for Cyber Security Research & Innovation. He is also the deputy director for business and technology research theme at Deakin Business School.
His current research interests include business analytics, cybersecurity, crowdsourcing, AI, blockchain, etc. He has published in leading journals including Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, International Journal of Information Management, Enterprise Information Systems, Journal of Database Management, Industrial Management and Data Systems, Engineering Applications of AI, Studies in Higher Education, and top IS conferences (eg. ICIS). His academic endeavor has been supported by various grants and industry (e.g. IBM). He is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of International Journal of Business Intelligence Research.
His academic leadership and contribution have been recognised with several awards, including the Australian Computer Society’s ICT Educator of the Year Gold Award, internationally-competitive IBM Faculty Awards, Deakin’s Vice-Chancellor Award for Value Innovation, and Deakin Faculty Excellence in Research Award. Moreover, his mentored team was crowned the World Champion at the IBM Watson Analytics Global Competition held in Las Vegas. In 2020, he was named amongst the Top 25 Analytics Leaders in Australia by the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia.
