Webinar – Who Owns Our Data?
Webinar – Who Owns Our Data?
Do you know who owns your personal data in Australia? How does Australian law manage the sometimes-conflicting interests of data sharing, data security and data privacy?
The Centre for Cyber Security Research and Innovation (CSRI) and the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) present this free online webinar on Friday April 30th @ 11.00AM (AEST).
Please join Dr Shiri Krebs, CSRI Research Division Leader (Law, Regulation, and Strategic Policy) and Associate Professor at Deakin University’s Law School, for an online discussion on the concepts of data ownership, data responsibilities, and data rights in the Australian context, and highlights some of the main problems and challenges in this area.
To mitigate these problems and improve data governance, Shiri proposes several solutions based on lessons learned from the European Union’s experience in this area.
